Riverside Park is a proposed planned development for a 62-acre parcel of land bordered by the south branch of the Chicago River to the west, Clark St. to the east, Roosevelt road to the north and 18th St. to the south. The design intent is to transform former railroad yards into Chicago’s first major riverfront community living. The south end of the site will be developed with low-rise residential buildings and townhouses. The north end of the site will be a mixed-use site combining hi-rise residential towers along with significant commercial and retail opportunities. The completed community environment will feature up to 600,000 s.f. in retail space and up to 4,600 residential units. Interwoven through the 62-acre site will be public parks, an active riverwalk and required parking areas.
