MICHAEL HENNING

AIA, LEED AP, Associate

Michael offers over 30 years of experience in architecture and design with a diverse aesthetic sensitivity, and strong technical proficiency. His comprehensive understanding of building design considerations and the construction process through to completion, is visible in a substantial body of work and demonstrated achievements as a project architect/designer.

Since joining Pappageorge Haymes Partners in 2013, Michael has served as project lead on such acclaimed projects as Clybourn 1200, a mixed-income, mixed-use development in Chicago’s Near North side. The project received 2 Green Globes® and has been honored with multiple national awards, including the Urban Land Institute’s prestigious Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable Housing Award. Project involvement outside of Chicago includes: The Collection, a mixed-use, mixed-housing complex in Honolulu, Hawaii; the Telegraph District, a collaboration with the City, engineers and local entrepreneur to develop the design and planning guidelines for the redevelopment of a disused industrial site in Lincoln, Nebraska and; Indian Wells, California, a high-end condominium product within a 15-acre high-end residential and hospitality development.

Prior to joining PH, Michael spent over five years as Associate and Senior Designer at Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) in Chicago, Illinois, where he worked on a wide variety of planning, commercial and residential high-rise projects including: The Oakwood 200, a residential tower in Chicago, Illinois, and; the Riverbend Development in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a 75-acre masterplan, multi-phased, mixed-use development. Additionally, he founded his own design and architectural consulting firm, where he specialized in high-end residential projects. Earlier in his career, Michael built his experience with notable Chicago architecture and design firms including; Scott Himmel and Darcy Bonner; Jordan Mozer & Associates; and Gibbons Fortman. While in school, Michael served as a year-round Intern with Environ Inc. (now HED), and Florian Wierzbowski Architecture.
