In Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood a half-block from Chicago’s “L”, this transit oriented development will cater to residents who enjoy urban living and a short train ride to the Loop. The design maximizes ground floor retail space to take advantage of the flow of pedestrian traffic surrounding the nearby transit stop. Two floors of parking, nestled above the retail storefront, are screened behind an articulated façade of architectural precast concrete panels and ribbons of glass. The garage roof will be capped by a landscaped “green” roof deck, serving walk-out terraces for the lower floor dwelling units. The residential floors above take full advantage of the views to the surrounding neighborhood and downtown with uninterrupted floor-to-ceiling glass, projecting bays and cantilevered balconies.
